Touring Local Cinema
the touring local cinema case study
The Touring Local Cinema (TLC) is a non-for-profit social enterprise that not only aims to provide access to cinema but through its links with the industry, aspires to provide work for those working within it. It launched in August 2013 with the help of Liverpool John Moores University, and it was with their guidance that also led to the companies first financial award from the UnLtd organisation.
We supported the TLC to introduce a good HR foundation by providing guidance on good HR practices when employing new staff. We also devised a bespoke contract of employment, which would ensure that any future staff would be issued a standardised Terms and Conditions. We will continue to work with the TLC on any future HR needs that they may require.
‘The service Paula provided me with was exactly what I needed and so much more. When taking on my first employee I didn’t know where to start, I came to her not knowing what questions I should be asking or what it was I needed to be doing and very quickly.
Paula put me on the right track, encouraging the good practice I already had in place and guiding me towards the simplest way forward when I was stuck for choices.
I will certainly go to her again in the future as all communication was fast and considered, which is exactly what you need when running a small business. I fully recommend her services to all.
